American Express, Plaid Reach Consumer Data-Sharing Deal (1)

American Express Co.’s customers will be able to more securely connect with the financial-technology apps of their choosing under a data-sharing agreement between the card giant and Plaid Inc.

American Express joins the approximately 45 financial institutions — including JPMorgan Chase & Co., Capital One Financial Corp. and Wells Fargo & Co. — that have similar agreements with Plaid, which supports more than 8,000 apps. The agreement is set to take effect this year.
