US, UK Sign Pact to Develop Tests for AI Models

US and UK have signed a MOU to jointly develop tests for the most advanced AI models, following through on commitments made at the AI Safety Summit last November, according to a statement from the US Commerce Department.

• Plans to build a common approach to AI safety testing and share capabilities to ensure risks can be tackled effectively
  • Intend to perform at least one joint testing exercise on a publicly accessible model
