Top Technology Companies Team Up to Address AI Workforce Impact

Technology companies including Cisco Systems Inc., Microsoft Corp., and Alphabet Inc.'s Google said Thursday that they’re joining hands to study the impact AI is having on technology workers.

The group, called the AI-Enabled ICT Workforce Consortium, “will assess AI’s impact on technology jobs and identify skills development pathways for the roles most likely to be affected by artificial intelligence,” it said.

The consortium was “catalyzed” by the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council Talent for Growth Task Force, it said, with input from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
