Sunak Strikes Cautious Tone on AI in Call for G-7 Regulation

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said Group of Seven countries will coordinate on artificial intelligence regulations, in a sign that some leaders are becoming more nervous about the potential dangers posed by the technology.

AI must be developed “safely and securely and with guardrails in place,” Sunak told reporters at the G-7 summit in Japan. “The technology is evolving quickly and we want to make sure that our regulation can evolve as it does as well.”
