Siemens CEO Busch Eyes M&A in AI, Life Sciences, Software (1)

Siemens AG Chief Executive Officer Roland Busch sees potential deals in artificial intelligence, life sciences and operations software, which runs factories.

“We can imagine doing more there,” Busch said Tuesday in an interview with Bloomberg Television, referring to the firm’s $5.1 billion (4.4 billion euros) acquisition last year of Dotmatics, which is enabling AI-driven drug development. “Building a data backbone for this life science is super relevant.”

Siemens’ shares rose as much as 2% to a record in early trading in Frankfurt, valuing the German industrial company at €201 billion.
