OpenAI Tightens Policies After Murder Suspect’s ChatGPT Use (1)

OpenAI Inc. told Canadian lawmakers it would have referred a banned ChatGPT user who later became the chief suspect in one of the country’s worst-ever mass shootings to police under newly updated policies.

The artificial intelligence company also revealed Thursday that the suspected killer in the Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia tragedy, 18-year-old Jesse Van Rootselaar, had a second ChatGPT account that it failed to detect until after police released her name.
