Global IT and consulting giant Capgemini announced major investment in a portfolio of generative AI services on Friday, noting increasing client demands in recent months.

The Paris-based company will spend 2 billion euros ($2.2 billion) on artificial intelligence over three years “to build its leadership in this breakthrough technology, that must be deployed responsibly, reliably, and sustainably,” CEO Aiman Ezzat said in an earnings release. “We are developing a portfolio of industry-specific offers and signing strategic partnerships, notably with Google Cloud and Microsoft, while training most of our workforce through our Data & AI Campus to fully leverage the power of generative AI in our operations.”

Capgemini will provide generative AI services for strategy, customer experience, software engineering, and enterprise, it said in a separate release. It has delivered generative AI projects in life science, consumer products & retail, and financial services for the past few years. The group is currently working with Heathrow Airport to deliver AI-based e-commerce and passenger services.

Under the new portfolio, four generative AI assistants will serve to enhance customer experience, the company said. They include a synthetic design assistant for hyper-personalized customer experience, personalized chatbots for customer self-service, a content and knowledge assistant for customer care services, and a product and offers knowledge assistant for sales team performance.
