Google’s Gemini Tool Stole AI Company’s Trademark, Lawsuit Says

Google LLC was hit with a lawsuit by a California-based generative AI company alleging the tech giant’s Gemini chatbot tool violates its trademark rights.

Google assumes “a small company like Gemini Data would not be in a position to challenge a corporate giant wielding overwhelming power” as it commits infringement,” Gemini Data Inc. said in a Wednesday complaint. The company asked the US District Court for the Northern District of California to award monetary damages and permanently block Google from using its intellectual property in connection with products related to artificial intelligence.
