Google In Talks With Pentagon to Use Gemini Models: Information

Google is negotiating an agreement with the US Department of Defense that would allow the Pentagon to use its Gemini AI models in classified settings, The Information reports, citing two unidentified people familiar with the matter.

• Agreement being discussed would allow the Pentagon to use Google’s AI for all lawful uses, one of the people said
• Adds that Google has proposed preventing its AI being used for domestic mass surveillance or autonomous weapons, without “appropriate” human oversight and control
