Elon Musk’s xAI Gets New Law Head Amid $6B Fundraising

Elon Musk’s xAI has hired its first legal chief in a growing war for talent among artificial intelligence startups. Robert Keele joined the company this month, shortly before xAI notched $6 billion in new fundraising.

“We’re hiring for numerous roles,” Keele said this week. The company operates Grok, a chatbot designed to rival OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Investors in its latest fundraising round include venture capital firms Andreessen Horowitz and Sequoia Capital, as well as Saudi Arabia’s Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal.
