AI Firms Plan New Privacy Commitments Soon, White House Says

Artificial intelligence companies are working with the Biden administration to unveil a set of privacy and security commitments in the near future, White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients said.

“The leading corporations need to do the right thing and they’re stepping forward with commitments that we’re working on right now that will be announced relatively shortly,” Zients said in an interview with Pod Save America.

The effort to work with companies voluntarily was borne in part out of concern that the ongoing regulatory process may work too slowly as emerging AI technology is unveiled.
