AI Data Center Concerns Spur GOP Calls for More Incentives

Republicans on Capitol Hill are floating new measures and ideas to help alleviate concerns over electricity costs tied to the artificial intelligence industry’s energy-hungry data centers.

President Donald Trump announced last week that major AI companies have agreed to foot the power costs for data centers amid growing opposition to the developments. Trump is expected to convene executives from Microsoft Corp., Alphabet Inc.'s Google, Meta Platforms Inc., and Amazon.com Inc., at the White House on Wednesday to formalize their commitments, Bloomberg News reported.
