AI Advisers Urge US Agencies to Fight Bias by Collecting Data

Government agencies must guard against privacy risks while still collecting enough personal information on Americans to mitigate AI bias, an advisory group will tell the White House.

The National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee, non-government experts appointed to make recommendations to the US government on AI policy, is suggesting steps federal agencies can take to accommodate restrictions on data collection while testing for inequities.
