Zillow Group Inc. won an antitrust suit over an alleged scheme to hide listings from rival brokers on its popular online real estate marketplace.
A Seattle jury determined late last week that the plaintiff, real estate broker REX-Real Estate Exchange Inc., failed to prove that Zillow used false advertising when it placed independent, or non-Multiple Listing Service, listings on a different section of its website. Real Estate Exchange, which brought the suit in 2021, had argued that Zillow conspired with the National Association of Realtors to demote such non-MLS listings on its website and make them harder to find.
