World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. failed to convince a judge to toss a lawsuit brought by rival MLW Media LLC that accused WWE of engaging in anticompetitive conduct to maintain a monopoly in their sport market.
MLW (Major League Wrestling) sued WWE last year for allegedly violating the Sherman Act by interfering with access to talent and media markets, including a television broadcasting agreement.
“The court finds that MLW has sufficiently alleged antitrust injury at this pleading stage,” US District Judge Edward Davila of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said in his Thursday ruling.
