VW Gets More of Prevent Group’s Antitrust Claims Sent to Germany

Prevent DEV GmbH must turn to Germany’s courts with claims that Volkswagen AG, Lear Corp., and Adient Plc engineered an illegal boycott aimed at excluding the auto parts giant from the global market for seat covers, a federal judge in Detroit ruled.

Judge Gershwin A. Drain dismissed the case Wednesday from the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, saying the dispute centers on VW’s home base of Germany, which has competent courts and antitrust laws that “cover the exercise of monopoly/monopsony power and boycott.”
