Veteran Chamber Lobbyist Johnson Gets DOL Review Board Spot (1)

The Labor Department is appointing Randy Johnson, a longtime lobbyist steeped in Republican and management-side workplace policy, as a member of its legal-review panel.

Labor Secretary Eugene Scalia and Deputy Secretary Patrick Pizzella said in a statement Monday that they were installing Johnson for a two-year term on the department’s Administrative Review Board. The five-member ARB, which Scalia increasingly has made a priority, delivers often-consequential decisions on behalf of the secretary. The panel sets precedents on weighty subjects such as wage-hour disputes or federal contractor discrimination, which can then get appealed to federal courts.
