Verra Mobility Corp. and its private equity backers were hit with antitrust claims in a Los Angeles federal court over their alleged monopoly on highway toll e-payment services for rental car companies that use EZ Pass and other processing systems.
“By locking rental car companies into Verra’s costly exclusive dealing and tying contracts,” Verra has “raised barriers to competition that are insurmountable (or nearly so),” the lawsuit says.
