Uber’s Antitrust Win Against Boston Taxi Companies Affirmed (1)

Uber Technologies Inc. convinced the First Circuit to uphold its win against a taxicab driver group in Boston that blamed the ride-hailing company’s allegedly anticompetitive practices for lost revenues.

The appellate court said the lower court in Massachusetts didn’t err in finding that the taxi companies failed to prove that Uber committed an “extreme or egregious wrong.”

“We are persuaded by the court’s marshalling of the facts in reaching its determination, both regarding Uber’s initial entrance and its continuing activities,” the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit wrote in its opinion Friday.
