Turkey’s M&A Volume Drops 15% to $5.85 Billion in 2024

Turkey’s M&A activity fell 15% to $5.85 billion in 2024, as investor appetite remained subdued despite the country’s return to conventional economic policies.

The total number of transactions, excluding privatizations, climbed to 137, up from 97 in 2023, according to a report by the Ankara-based Competition Board, the country’s antitrust body.

But rises in the deal count and its local-currency value were undercut by a 16.5% slide in the lira against the dollar during the year, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
