US Soy Farmer Hopes Get a Lift From Trump Signal on China Trade

US President Donald Trump’s vow to press his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping to resume soybean purchases can’t come soon enough for farmers grappling with the loss of their biggest customer.

Trump said Wednesday he plans to raise the issue when he meets Xi in South Korea at the end of October. But the clock is already ticking for US soybean growers, with the harvest already under way.
