Top Fisheries Accused of Salmon Price Fixing Amid EU Probe (1)

Fisheries based in Norway, Scotland, Canada, and New England were hit with a lawsuit April 23 accusing them of conspiring to fix the price of farm-raised Atlantic salmon.

The top global producers have conspired to rig salmon’s cash price in Oslo, Norway, a key benchmark that determines prices around the world. It also determines the cost of salmon futures sold through commodities exchanges, according to the proposed class action filed in Miami federal court.
