A Texas-based trade association representing suppliers in the terrazzo flooring and mosaic industry was sued in federal court by a business that claims the association organized a group boycott to prevent nonmembers from bidding on key contracts.
The National Terrazzo and Mosaic Association conspired with its members to exclude Terrazzo USA and Associates Inc. from jobs whose specifications require proof of membership, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.
Terrazzo is a popular flooring material used in airport concourses, courthouse foyers, operating rooms, and other commercial settings.
