UNC tennis player Reese Brantmeier filed a bid for class status in a case against the NCAA, asking a judge to certify a class of Division I tennis athletes who forfeited prize money due to rules that prohibit them from accepting cash awards and bonuses for their performance.
Brantmeier in a Feb. 7 filing asked the US District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina to consider certifying a damages class, as well as an injunctive relief class, of individuals who competed in D-I tennis between March 19, 2020, and the date of judgment in the case.
