Tempur Sealy, Mattress Firm Sue to Block FTC Case Over Deal (1)

Tempur Sealy International Inc. sued the Federal Trade Commission in a bid to block the in-house case against its proposed purchase of Mattress Firm, making it the latest agency target to argue the proceedings are unconstitutional.

Tempur Sealy and Mattress Firm argued in a Friday lawsuit filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas that the FTC’s administrative action is a violation of the firms’ private rights under the Constitution.
