Celestron Acquisition LLC and its Taiwanese parent Synta Technology Corp. on Thursday received final approval for a $32 million deal to resolve price-fixing allegations, bringing an end to litigation brought five years ago.
Judge Edward J. Davila of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said in an order that the deal was “fair, reasonable and adequate.” It includes $3,000 service awards to the class representatives.
Indirect purchaser plaintiffs brought the suit in 2020 alleging the telescope makers fixed prices and allocated the market for consumer telescopes.
