Symrise, Givaudan Lose Bid to Toss Fragrance Price-Fixing Suits

Symrise AG, Firmenich International SA, Givaudan SA, and New York-based International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. will face fragrance price-fixing claims from three sets of plaintiffs after a federal judge allowed them to move forward.

Judge William J. Martini of the US District Court for the District of New Jersey in a Feb. 21 opinion denied the fragrance firms’ joint motion to dismiss antitrust claims brought by direct, indirect and end-user plaintiffs across three proposed class actions.
