Suez CEO Says There’s No Dialogue With Veolia About Takeover (1)

Suez SA isn’t talking to Veolia Environnement SA about its takeover proposal and remains opposed to it, despite efforts to broker a truce.

“There is no dialogue under any form with Veolia,” Suez Chief Executive Officer Bertrand Camus said on a conference call on Wednesday, after reporting a drop in third-quarter profit. “None of the normal conditions for a dialogue are met.”

Veolia bought a 29.9% stake in Suez in early October as a first step to taking full control, but remains at loggerheads with Suez’s management despite government efforts to broker a truce. The takeover remains against the interests ...
