The European Commission reimposed EU16m in cartel fines on five Italian steel producers following a lengthy court battle where earlier penalties were overturned twice.
- EU comments July 4 in press release
- Alfa Acciai, Feralpi Holding SpA, Ferriere Nord Spa, Partecipazioni Industriali ( Riva Fire SpA) & Valsabbia Investimenti or Ferriera Valsabbia were fined again following initial 2002 penalty that was overturned in 2007
- EU fined co.s again in 2009, that was also annulled by court in 2017
- Fines were reduced by 50% “in recognition of the long duration of proceedings“
