Tooth straightening company SmileDirectClub LLC has dropped an antitrust case against the Georgia Board of Dentistry after announcing plans to liquidate in bankruptcy.
SmileDirectClub agreed to voluntarily dismiss the case, with each party bearing its own costs and fees, according to a Sunday filing in the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. The company’s decision to abandon the suit comes after SmileDirectClub failed to secure capital that would revive the company amid declining revenue.
