Ski Equipment Firms Hit by EU Raids Over Suspected Cartel

European Union antitrust watchdogs said they raided the premises of several unidentified ski-equipment firms suspected of forming an illegal cartel.

The Brussels-based European Commission gave scant details of the inspections in a statement on Monday beyond saying that the companies “may have violated EU antitrust rules that prohibit cartels and restrictive business practices.”

It said the raids, conducted alongside national officials, are a preliminary step and the EU may start formal proceedings if evidence backs up its suspicions. They’re also not an indication of guilt but should companies be found to have violated EU rules, they may eventually be ...
