Senators Clash With Chamber Over FTC Proposed Noncompete Ban (1)

Two Senate Democrats accused the US Chamber of Commerce of undermining its own values in threatening a lawsuit over the FTC’s plan to ban noncompete agreements—the latest clash over the far-reaching rule.

The Chamber promised in January to sue the commission if it finalizes the ban as proposed.

Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) wrote to the business group Tuesday, immediately after the Chamber asked Congress, in a separate letter, to “exercise your oversight and appropriations authority to closely examine the FTC’s proposed rulemaking.”
