RTX’s $34 Million No-Poach Settlement Gets Preliminary Approval

RTX Corp.'s Pratt & Whitney division won preliminary approval for its $34 million class action deal to settle claims that the defense giant colluded with other aerospace manufacturers to refrain from hiring one another’s employees.

Judge Sarala V. Nagala of the US District Court for the District of Connecticut in a Jan. 3 ruling said the deal was “reached by arm’s-length negotiations between highly experienced counsel after years of litigation” and that common questions of law predominated over questions affecting only individual members of the class. A hearing on final approval is set for May 7.
