Romania Probes EON’s Delgaz Grid for Alleged Abuse of Dominance

Jan. 10, 2019, 5:42 PM UTC

Romania’s Competition Council launched a probe into a potential abuse of the dominant position by E.ON Romania’s unit Delgaz Grid, according to an emailed statement.

The competition authority raided Delgaz Grid’s headquarters on suspicion that the company gave preferential treatment to some other E.ON Romania units.

E.ON Romania wasn’t immediately available to comment when contacted by Bloomberg.

The council says Delgaz Grid risks a fine of up to 10 percent of turnover if it finds a breach of competition rules.

Delgaz Grid operates one of the largest natural gas distribution networks in Romania, with 3 million clients.
