Publisher Plaintiffs Get Class Status in Google Ad Exchange Case

Publishers who sold ad space through Alphabet Inc.'s Google unit advertising marketplace called “AdX” got class certification in part of their lawsuit against the tech giant, after a federal judge found that the group adequately alleged antitrust harm.

Judge P. Kevin Castel of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York on Dec. 12 granted class status to publishers that directly paid Google for services associated with selling advertising impressions on websites via Google’s AdX Ad Exchange from Dec. 15, 2016, through March 31, 2024.
