Real estate company JBG Smith and apartment manager Highmark Residential failed to toss a rental price-fixing case after a judge ruled there were facts to support allegations that they conspired with revenue management firm RealPage Inc.
Associate Judge Todd Edelman of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia revealed his reasoning in a Tuesday opinion after denying their motions to dismiss in late May. He said the complaint, from the District of Columbia itself, plausibly raised the inference that JBG entered into a conspiracy with its competitors to fix rent prices in the District.
