Pre-Court Tax Payment Case Won’t Get Supreme Court Review

The U.S. Supreme Court declined to take up a case involving a taxpayer trying to get his property back after a tax sale.

The case centers on a dispute between Alexi Ortiz, who is trying to get his property back, and Alfred D. Walsh, who bought the property. Ortiz has argued that there isn’t a statutory or judicial mechanism through which he can pay the taxes a Maryland court demanded he pay in order to bring his case.
