Oakland’s antitrust claims against the NFL over the relocation of the Raiders to Las Vegas should be reinstated because they sufficiently alleged that in a competitive marketplace it would still be hosting an NFL team, the city told the Ninth Circuit.
The trial court, in dismissing the suit, ignored the California city’s allegations that the number of teams would increase from 32 to more than 40 in a competitive marketplace, causing teams to compete for host cities, the city said in its opening brief filed Thursday in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
