O.K. Foods Reaches Settlement in Chicken Broiler Antitrust Case

O.K. Foods Inc. has agreed to a settlement to resolve claims the poultry producer conspired to fix and raise prices for chicken broilers.

End-user consumer plaintiffs notified the court in a filing Wednesday in US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. End users include people or entities who indirectly purchased broiler meat from the defendants.

The case is among a wave of cartel cases involving livestock, agriculture, and protein, many of which allege conspiracies to launder secret commercial information through farm sector databases compiled by Agri Stats Inc.
