Novo Nordisk CEO Challenges Pfizer to Raise its Bid for Metsera

The leader of Novo Nordisk A/S said Pfizer Inc. should raise its offer if the US drugmaker wants to buy obesity-drug developer Metsera Inc., bringing a competition between two pharmaceutical heavyweights to the Oval Office.

“As of today, our bid is higher, and our message to Pfizer is that if they would like to buy the company, then put your hand in the pocket and bid higher,” Novo Chief Executive Officer Mike Doustdar said during press conference with President Donald Trump at the White House.
