Norway Aims to Boost Grocery Competition to Curb Food Price Rise

Norway is planning new measures to boost competition in the grocery business to curb a rise in food prices.

The government wants to boost supervision of price transparency and is considering rules to reduce the anti-competitive use of exclusive retail leases, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store said in a statement Monday. It also plans to review the act on good business practices to help “effective negotiations” between chains and suppliers.
