NextEra Inks $9.5 Million Deal to Settle Wage Price-Fixing Case

NextEra Energy Inc. agreed to pay $9.5 million to settle antitrust claims that it conspired with other major nuclear power generation companies to illegally limit compensation for employees.

A notice of the proposed settlement, filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Maryland, follows less than a year of litigation. Plaintiffs, who filed a proposed class action last July, said they will move for preliminary approval of the deal “in the near future.”
