NASCAR convinced a federal judge to deny two racing teams—including one owned by basketball icon Michael Jordan—a temporary restraining order against the organization to preserve their charter designation and guarantee spots in the Cup Series.
Jordan’s 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports had argued the TRO was needed to avoid losing their charter rights along with sponsors and drivers.
The teams also sought a preliminary injunction, and Judge Kenneth Bell said he would decide that after additional briefing.
