Musk’s xAI Warns Staffers to Limit Contact With Cursor Employees

Employees at Elon Musk’s xAI were warned by the company’s top lawyer to carefully moderate their interactions with workers from Cursor — a directive that came weeks after Musk’s firm announced a possible deal to acquire the AI coding startup.

James Burnham, xAI’s general counsel, sent guidelines to the company’s personnel last week stressing that contact with Cursor staff should not extend beyond what is necessary to implement a technical partnership announced last month, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity as the information is not public.
