Mobile Home Companies Get Rental Price-Fixing Litigation Tossed

A group of companies that lease land for mobile homes convinced a federal judge to dismiss for now a case accusing them of illegally raising rental prices of lots across the US.

Judge Franklin U. Valderrama of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in a Thursday opinion granted defendants, including Hometown America Management LLC, Inspire Communities LLC, and Kingsley Management Corp., their motion to dismiss without prejudice.

The plaintiffs, he said, failed to plead a price-fixing conspiracy and define a plausible market, a threshold issue in antitrust cases.
