MGM Resorts International, Caesars Entertainment Inc. and several other casino-hotel operators are facing a new lawsuit alleging they conspired to use algorithm to fix room prices in Atlantic City.
The alleged scheme, beginning in 2018, is a violation of Section 1 of the Sherman Act, according to a proposed class action filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey.
The plaintiffs, who are two New Jersey residents, said they paid “supra-competitive” room prices that were driven higher by the defendants’ use of a pricing algorithm platform engineered by the Rainmaker Group.
