Meta Pushes Back On ‘Tardy’ Claims It Copied Instagram Shopping

Meta Platforms Inc. vehemently denied claims it stole a rival’s plans for “tag-based shopping” through social media content, saying the lawsuit filed by Ollywan Ltd. was brought far too late and that the plaintiff’s nascent app was never a viable competitor.

The social media giant filed a motion Monday to dismiss the case brought by Ollywan in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, arguing the complaint was “tardy” and its Sherman Act claims should fail.
