Marfrig Slumps as Regulator Delays Shareholder Vote on BRF Deal

Marfrig Global Foods SA’s shares slumped after Brazil’s stock market regulator postponed a shareholder vote on its acquisition of chicken supplier BRF SA, asking for more information on some transaction terms.

The regulator, known as CVM, delayed BRF’s meeting scheduled for Wednesday in response to requests from minority shareholders. At issue is the information provided to shareholders about the proposed exchange ratio for the deal and the rationale behind it, according to minutesfrom a CVM meeting.

Marfrig shares fell as much as 4.6% in Sao Paulo on Tuesday. BRF was down as much as 4.3%.
