Louisiana Health System Dodges More of Rival’s Antitrust Claims

Willis-Knighton Medical Center sidestepped the second of two federal antitrust cases brought in Shreveport, La., over claims that it monopolized the regional health care market by bullying a Louisiana State University medical campus into ending its relationship with a rival hospital operator.

Judge Elizabeth E. Foote tossed the case Monday from the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, where University Health Shreveport filed the lawsuit last year after Foote rejected its bid to belatedly expand the scope of the ongoing case it initiated in 2015.
