DOJ, Agri Stats Agree to Settle Chicken Pricing Case (1)

The Justice Department and six state attorneys general reached a proposed settlement with Agri Stats Inc., an Indiana-based data provider, in a Biden-era antitrust case alleging that the company helped chicken producers collude on the wholesale prices they set for sales to leading grocery stores.

“A stable and affordable food supply is critical to our country’s well-being,” said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche in a statement. Blanche announced the settlement earlier Thursday in a post on X. “This settlement means meat prices will go down for consumers,” Blanche wrote.
